GAMELAN PERFORMANCES

Gamelan is a term for various types of orchestra played in Indonesia. It is the main element of the Indonesian traditional music. Each gamelan is slightly different from the other; however, they all have the same organization, which based on different instrumental groups with specific orchestral functions. The instruments in a gamelan are composed of sets of tuned bronze gongs, gong-chimes, metallophones, drums, one or more flute, bowed and plucked string instruments, and sometimes singers.

Our Gamelan troupe was established in 1998. The group consists of 6-8 experienced musicians and has performed in many occasions throughout Malaysia and overseas such as Italy, Korea, Spain, Switzerland, India and The United States of America.

Our troupe will serenade you throughout our two performance and evoke the mystical Malay/Javanese aura that accompanies each performance.

Our Gamelan troupe will also help enhance your occasion that
will stamp a lifelong impression to its audience.

TRADITIONAL DANCERS

Our experienced and versatile dancers are able to perform a variety of dances from zapin, inang, joget, to modern Indian and Chinese plus other contemporary dances to suit any occasion.The graceful movements of our dancers will clinch your attention and create a musical bliss to the end of each performance.

KOMPANG

Kompang is a type of a Malay traditional drum. The musical Kompang is influenced by Arabic music and it is also use for welcoming significant guests to your formal events/ ceremonies such as launchings, official opening and closing ceremonies and also for wedding ceremonies.

The kompang instrument is of Arab origin and was brought into the country either with Indian-Muslim traders during the days of the Malay Sultanate, or through Java in the 13th century by Arab traders.

Gamelan group

Number of musicians: 6-8

Number of songs played: 8-10

Period of performance: 2-3 hours (maximum 3 hours)

Traditional dances

Number of dancers: 4-6

Number of dances: 3-4

Traditional dancers are usually accompanied by the gamelan group, however the dances can be separately performed, tailored to events held by client (upon discussion)

Kompang group

Number of musicians: 8-10

Number of songs played: 4-6

COMEDY PERFORMANCE

Color your events with the acts of our group of cartoonists/ comedians. Create a difference for your dinner shows with a jovial ambience. An all-in-one performance by the cartoonists – MC/ singer/ comedians.

We can also cater for other events, customized to your needs and requirements with the Comedy Performances – family days, arts demo, workshops.

HOME STAY PACKAGE

Home Stay Package is a programme for tourists who wants to experience a typical Malay lifestyle. Situated in Kampung Sungai Tengi Kiri in the Hulu Selangor District and Kampung Ulu Chuchoh in Selangor, these participating villages provides and eventful and meaningful experience to its guests.
